Keep hands off as much as possible.
Clean 3-4 times a day with a sterile saline solution OR an unscented anti-bacterial soap.
Use single use paper towels or Q-tips to clean. Do not pick at crtusties or dry blood.
Wash piercing after showers, working out, and any skin care routine.
(For nipples/naval piercings ONLY: Before bed, lay on your back and use the cap to your cleaning solution to soak the piercing. Make sure both sides of your piercings are submerged. Soak for 3-5 minutes. Do this as consistently as you can for the first few months of healing.)
It depends on the piercing!
This can range from 1-3 months depending on how your piercing is healing. This varies from person to person.
Ask your piercer for more information!
Avoid cleaning products like alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Bactine, and any ointments.
No swimming. No pools, baths, lakes, ponds or otherwise submerging your piercing in water.
(For mouth piercings: Avoid smoking. Use alcohol free mouthwash.)

Traditional:
Leave wrap on for no more than 2 hours. Then, clean using warm water and unscented anti-bacterial soap at least twice a day for the first 7 days, Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Day 1-3 use A&D or Aquaphore sparingly to keep tattoo moisturized. (No need to cake it on!)
Day 3+, use an unscented lotion a few times a day or as needed. Do not pick scratch, or disturb the tattoo. You will likely have a phase where your tattoo peels similar to a sunburn (this is normal!)
No pools, baths, lakes, ponds, or otherwise submerging your tattoo in any body of water.
Saniderm/Dermshield:
After first bandaged is applied, leave it on for 8-24 hours. This timing is different for everyone. Once the bandage is filled with fluid or the adhesive is starting to weaken, it is time to replace the bandage. Regardless of how much fluid builds up, it should be replaced within 24 hours. Come see your artist for a bandage change. They will remove your bandage and replace it with a new one. (If you remove it yourself, don't remove it like a band aid! Slowly peel it off and clean with anti bacterial soap. Pat dry and get replaced as soon as possible by your artist.)
That is normal!
That fluid is known as "plasma". Plasma builds because your body is recognizing an open wound and trying to close it off with white blood cells and lymph. Plasma actually helps heal your tattoo!
If too much of this builds, clean with anti bacterial soap and pat dry. Then apply A&D or Aquaphore sparingly.
